In the past it was considered hard and very expensive to have and maintain a saltwater aquarium. With the introduction of the internet and free flowing knowledge with discussion the ability to keep fish and corals once thought to be impossible has now became possible.

While it is still very true a saltwater aquarium is not an easy hobby or system that is forgiving when left unattended. The benefit of having a small piece of the ocean in our homes keeps us diligently maintaining and growing in our understanding.

Your level of interest and dedication will ultimately determine what fish and corals you can keep. Most of our members started small and quickly moved up to larger more diverse tanks as their education grew.

We welcome visitors of all skill levels to come to our meetings and use our forums. With hands on meetings held at members homes and at our local sponsoring stores. The omas forum has a special “New to the hobby” with many different topic headings. I am sure that you will find all the answers you need to start and maintain your own saltwater aquarium.
